Cash-based rewards are simply any reward or incentive that has the equivalent use as cash. From checks to prepaid debit cards, cash products have the tendency to have the highest costs but also the highest initial response out of the gate. Cash-based products do have a higher tendency to be effective from day one, but they also have a high tendency to be less personal and even when personalized, come across like the grandma that gives you the $20 in cash with an unsigned card as opposed to the grandma that gave you a gift that you know she thought about.
